Gullo's Hole-In-One Helps Him Tie For First At The NCCC Invitational

LOCKPORT - Sophomore Anthony Gullo (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown HS) continues to stay on a hot streak as the Jamestown Community College golf team competed in the Niagara County Community College Invitational at Willowbrook Country Golf Course, a par-71 course.

Gullo shot a 77 on the afternoon, tied for first, battling back from five strokes down at the turn. After going to the cards, Sam Arrigo from Jefferson Community College came away with the win. Gullo made par on eight holes, getting one birdie while shooting a hole-in-one of hole 13, a par three at 164 yards out.

"I'm happy that Anthony made that hole-in-one," said interim head coach George Sisson. "The last time he made a hole-in-one, he said no one witnessed it and he thought he'd never get on again. That was a big confidence boost for sure."

Freshman David Allen (Jamestown, NY/Falconer HS) finished 14th on the afternoon with freshman Josh Brown (Randolph, NY/Randolph HS) finishing in 21st place.

The Jayhawks will be back in action this upcoming Friday, May 7th, as they travel to Elms Golf Course for the Jefferson Community College Invitational.
