JCC Currently 11th After Day Two of Golf Nationals; Rodgers Moved Up to 19th for Women

CHAUTAUQUA, NY - The weather gods shined down on the second rounds of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Men's and Women's Golf National Championships hosted by Jamestown Community College (JCC) at Chautauqua Golf Club on Wednesday.

On the men's side, Jamestown dropped to 11th overall with a team score of 93-over par. The top-scoring Jayhawk remains Kyler Wojtowicz, who carded a 78, after an opening round 79, on the par 72 course, which moved him to a tie for 26th. Trailing the hockey player for JCC are Reid Olsen (81/85), Cole Johnson (84/90), Jaxson Faulk (86/94), and Zach Johnson (97/86). Defending team champion Sandhills Community College remains in first with a two-day score of five-over par.  Individually, Jake Morgan of Community College of Morris remains in the lead with a one-stroke advantage after shooting a two-under through two rounds.

Switching to the women, Cadence Rodgers climbed to 19th overall through 36 holes with a 101 on the picture-perfect afternoon. The ladies' leaderboard now has a tie at the top with Sarah Wang of Oxford-Emory after shooting a +14; she led after day one, but she is now tied with Amelia Dunseth of Rock Valley Community College. The team leader is currently the College of DuPage, which has a four-player total of +138.

Round three takes the tee box on Thursday with the men returning to the early groupings at the Chautauqua Golf Club at 8:00 AM.
