Zack Johnson Joins JCC Swimming, Eyes Similar Success of All-American Brother Maxim

JAMESTOWN, NY - The Jamestown Community College men's swimming and diving team tapped into a familiar name for their newest swimmer in Zack Johnson, the younger brother of Jayhawks' All-American Maxim Johnson, "I picked JCC because of the positive influence it had on my brother. I'm excited to experience something completely new and different. I want to challenge myself in a new environment," said Zack Johnson.

The younger Johnson is taking his own path for JCC, swimming in the breaststroke and freestyle events while majoring in Biology, "The human body has always interested me," he noted.

Jamestown is coming off a 2023-24 season where the men's team took third place in the nation in the non-scholarship division. Joining a team with a rich history was also a draw for Johnson, "I am extremely excited to join the swim team and try to add to an already successful team."

Johnson joins a program that has some holes to fill. The 2024-25 Jayhawks have just two returners from last year's squad in the fold this season, so there will be plenty of opportunities to join his brother as an All-American and, if you ask Zack, "break some of his records."

Johnson and the rest of the Jayhawks hit the competitive pools for the first time this season in early November.
