Jayhawks Look to Rebound as they Host the JCC Double Duals

JAMESTOWN - The Jamestown Community College wrestling team will look to rebound this weekend as they host Lackawanna College and Garret College in the JCC Double Dual.

 

The Jayhawks (1-2, 0-1 WNYAC) are coming off a tough 27-17 loss against Region 3 foe Niagara County Community College Wednesday evening. JCC got out to a quick 11-0 lead after the first three matches with 125 pounder Marcus Evans (Randolph, NY/Randolph HS), 133 pounder Taige Jones (Bemus Point, NY/Maple Grove HS), and 141 pounder Trenton Donahue (DuBois, PA/DuBois Area HS) all won their matches.

 

The Thunderwolves climbed back in, tying the dual at 11-11. 174 pounder Ross Abrams (Eden, NY/Eden Central) got the Jayhawks back on top with a pin but NCCC won the last three matches to secure the dual.

 

In their previous meeting against Lackawanna College, the Jayhawks came away with a 38-12 win this past Sunday. Jones, Donahue, 157 pounder Otto Davidson (Conger, NY/Clarkstown North), 165 pounder Andrew Bungar (Hermitage, PA/Hickory HS), Abrams, 184 pounder Jesse Storch (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads HS), and Alex Christy (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia HS) all picking up wins.

 

The Lakers of Garrett College are coming off a big loss against NCCC last weekend, who they face once again tomorrow afternoon before traveling to JCC.

 

The Lackawanna dual will start at 2:30 p.m. with the Garrett Dual starting at 4:30 p.m.
