Jayhawks Ready for Wednesday Night Showdown at Niagara County

JAMESTOWN - Coming off a success weekend of matches, the Jamestown Community College wrestling team will be back in action tomorrow evening at Niagara County Community College.

 

The Jayhawks are coming off a weekend where they picked up eight wins against Lackawanna College and Garrett College.

 

Trenton Donahue (DuBois, PA/DuBois Area HS) went 2-0 on the afternoon, including a win in the 149 pound weight class.

 

Dominik Rodriguez (Gowanda, NY/Gowanda Central) and Collin Mower (Gerry, NY/Cassadaga Valley HS) Also picked up wins against Lackawanna College.

 

Against the Lakers, Marcus Evans (Randolph, NY/Randolph HS), Taige Jones (Bemus Point, NY/Maple Grove HS), Otto Davidson (Congers, NY/Clarkstown North), and Ross Abram (Eden, NY/Eden Central) also picked up wins on the afternoon.

 

The last time JCC faced the Thunderwolves, they fell by a score of 27-17. JCC started out hot, going up 11-0 with wins from Evans, Jones and a tech. Fall for Donahue. NCCC won the next three matches, tying up the dual at 11-11. Abram got the Jayhawks' last win of the evening, getting a fall in 2:09.

 

NCCC is coming off an impressive performance this past weekend against Garrett College. On the day, the Thunderwolves got three falls and two tech. Falls.

 

Action begins tomorrow at 7 p.m.
