JCC's Gavin Warner Continues his Wrestling Career at Emory & Henry University
JAMESTOWN, NY - Jamestown Community College's (JCC) Gavin Warner (Jamestown, NY/Pulaski County HS) is continuing his academic and athletic careers at Emory & Henry University in Virginia.

"I chose Emory & Henry because it is the best fit for what I want to do and accomplish in life," said Warner.

Warner will also be focusing on his major of political science with an emphasis on crime and law.

"JCC showed me what college is like and taught me what I need to do to be successful," added Warner.

While in the green and gold, Gavin was named an NJCAA Men's Scholar All-American, truly putting the student in student-athlete. On the mat, he was also a Region 3 Athlete of the Week winner.

"JCC wrestling taught me that in order for me to be good, I need to put in the time outside of the room and be the hardest worker," mentioned Warner.

The Jayhawks' wrestling team was a tight-knit group, one that fostered strong bonds.

"My favorite memory as a Jayhawk was definitely always hanging out with my friends at the dorms," said Warner on his teammates.

That leads right into what Warner will miss most about his time at JCC.

"I will miss my coaches and professors that truly cared about their students and athletes who took the time to help when needed," he added.

Warner and the rest of the Wasps start the season in November.
