JCC's Ryan Parton Continues his Wrestling Career at William Penn University
JAMESTOWN, NY - Jamestown Community College's (JCC) Ryan Parton (Macedon, NY / Penfield High School) is continuing his academic and athletic careers at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

"I chose William Penn University because of the opportunity to further my career and an excellent opportunity to wrestle at a higher level," said Parton.

When away from the mats, he will spend his time focusing on his major of industrial engineering.

"JCC prepared me academically by providing a good learning environment and helping me earn much of my necessary knowledge and credits," added Parton.

The Western New York native excelled as a sophomore in the green and gold, finishing second in districts at 141 pounds.

"JCC wrestling has prepared me for this move by helping bring me from where I was in high school to a higher level where I was able to wrestle in nationals," mentioned Ryan.

That trip to the postseason in Iowa tops Parton's time as a Jayhawk.

"My best memory as a Jayhawk is getting the opportunity to compete at the national level," he said.

The Jayhawks' wrestling team was a smaller group, leading to it becoming a tight-knit squad.

"I will miss the community that was built around me and the friends I gained most at JCC," said the sophomore.

Parton and his new William Penn Statesmen teammates are expected to hit the mats around Halloween.
