Jayhawks Dominate the Panthers

BRADFORD, Pa. - Closing out the fall portion of the season on a dominant performance, the Jamestown Community College women's swimming & diving team came away with an 115-43 win over the University of Pitt-Bradford Saturday afternoon.

 

The Jayhawks (4-2) finished first in eight individual events with Kaylee Constantino (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg HS), Tia Moppert (Gowanda, NY/Gowanda HS), and Jenna Fiebiger (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Fourways HS) all finished with two first-places finishes each.

 

Fiebiger finished the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:15.46 and a time of 6:41.38 in the 500 yard freestyle events.

 

Constantino set a new personal best in the 100 yard breaststroke, finishing with a time of 1:17.59. In the 50 yard freestyle, Constantino finished with a time of 27.55.

 

Moppert posted a time of 2:35.65 in the 200 yard IM and 1:00.59 in the 100 yard freestyle event.

 

Emily Lyon (Panam, NY/Panama Central) finished first in the 200 yard freestyle event, finishing with a time of 2:14.06. Lyon also finished third, coming in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:34.94).

 

Shannen Stein (Olean, NY/Portville Central) had the Jayhawks other first-place finish, posting a time of 1:13.19 in the 100 yard backstroke. Stein also posted a second-place finish in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:26.14.

 

JCC also had a pair of first-place finishes in the relays, coming in the 200 yard medley relay and in the 200 yard freestyle relay. The team of Lyon, Fiebiger, Courtney Boardman (Lakewood, NY/Frewsburg HS), and Jade Vidas (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/Parktown HS for Girls) finished with a time of 2:24.34 in the 200 yard medley relay. The relay of Moppert, Stein, Vidas, and Constantino posted a time of 1:52.40 in the 200 yard freestyle relay.

 

The Jayhawks will be off until January 15th when they host the JCC January Invitational.
