JCC's Harley Hoag Commits to Hilbert College for Baseball

JAMESTOWN, NY - Jamestown Community College's Harley Hoag (Salamanca, NY / Salamanca HS) has committed to continuing his academic and athletic careers at Hilbert College in Hamburg, NY, a suburb of Buffalo.

Hoag appeared in 39 games during his only season with the Jayhawks, where he batted .342 with 11 RBI, 40 hits, and 26 runs.

The Salamanca product plans to major in Forensic Science while playing for the Hawks, "JCC academically prepared me for this by advising me how my credits would transfer and teaching great classes. I loved all of my classes at JCC, and I am very glad I went here," said Harley.

The shortstop for JCC was known as a team leader on and off the field, "JCC athletically prepared me for this through Coach Jerico. He really helped me with just about every aspect of my game. He really elevated me and gave me a great chance to play for the Jayhawks. I am very appreciative of my time with Coach and every part of this season with the team," added Hoag.

Harley was a centerpiece on the best baseball team Jamestown has produced in a decade, leading to several fond memories, "My best memory as a Jayhawk was getting the chance to play with my twin brother Hayden for the last time. He and I are really close, and just being able to share the field again was something that means a lot to me."

Being a native Western New Yorker, it was important for Harley to make his next life decision one which kept him in the area, "I am also very glad that I am staying close to home, it is such a nice feeling knowing I am by myself but when I eventually need something I know my parents will be right there. It is also very nice knowing they have my backs by being at every game."
