SYRACUSE, NY - Jamestown Community College (JCC) baseball made the trip up to Onondaga Community College (OCC) on Thursday for a pair of games that saw the Jayhawks sit as the home team on the scoreboard, and it's too bad the Dirty Birds weren't playing at Diethrick Park because they had their most complete outings in a 7-0 and 15-4 sweep.
In game one, it was all about freshman pitcher Santino Musone, who tossed a three-hit shutout. His heroics were needed early as the game went to the fifth inning still scoreless before JCC broke through to score seven runs in the final two frames. The damage was done by Yadiel Garcia and Mitchell McKinney, who each had two RBI, while Musone, Jax Arcuri, and Cadyn Wilson all knocked in one run.
Game two saw an offensive explosion for Jamestown in the third inning. Jamestown entered the bottom of the frame up 3-2 before scoring 11 runs that led to a 15-4 win in four innings. McKinney led the way for JCC with four RBI, Gabe Roth added three, Josue Rosario and Arcuri each had a pair, and Garcia, Musone, and Atlon Will drove in a run. Roth earned his first win of the season while allowing three earned runs on four strikeouts.
The pair of wins evens JCC's home record at 6-6 and moves it to 13-23 overall.
