JCC Opens Region Play with Walk-Off Win; Splits Doubleheader vs. #13 FLCC

SALAMANCA, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) baseball team opened region play at their home away from home, Veterans Memorial Park in Salamanca. JCC's win-one, lose-one trend in doubleheaders continued against 13th ranked Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) to push their record to 6-8 overall and 1-1 in Region 3 action.

Game one started off right for Jamestown as Santino Musone drove in the game's first run with an RBI that scored Anthony Tolentino to make it 1-0. Finger Lakes scored the next four runs to take a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the 5th. That's when JCC was able to cut the deficit in half when Josue Rosario knocked in Seth Ranieri to make it a 4-2 ballgame. It remained 4-2 in the 6th before Musone, who started on the mound, helped himself out with a solo home run to left-center, making it a 4-3 contest. Later in the inning, Luke Larson came to the plate and drove in the tying run with a double to left. The game stayed 4-4 going into the bottom half of the 7th, where Josue Rosario got on and created havoc on the base path, ultimately finding himself at third before a walk-off wild pitch won the game for JCC, 5-4.

Game two wasn't as kind to the Jayhawks, falling behind 4-0 through three innings. JCC got on the board in the 3rd on an RBI double from Skura to make it 4-1 in favor of FLCC. The deficit grew to five in the 4th as FLCC tacked on two more runs. In the bottom half, JCC scratched out an RBI from Bryce Bedrosian to get the lead back to four runs, but that would be your final, with the Jayhawks falling 6-2.

Jamestown is back in action on Sunday when they return the visit to Finger Lakes Community College at 1:00 PM.
