JAMESTOWN, NY - Jamestown Community College's Luke Larson (San Tan Valley, AZ / Combs HS) is returning to his home state to play baseball at Justice University in Chandler, Arizona.

"I chose Justice University for a few reasons. First, the school is a Christian and missional school, which is very important to me. I really like that the school focuses on serving others and making a positive impact," said Larson. "Second, the baseball coaches at Justice are very passionate about player development, and I feel like it's a place where I can continue to grow and improve as a player," he added.

While Larson will take the diamond for baseball, his focus will be on majoring in education at Justice University, a program he believes JCC has him primed to succeed in.

"My professors at JCC were amazing. They were so supportive and helped build my confidence in tougher subjects, which I feel has prepared me well for this next step academically," he said.

Larson was a stalwart in the Jayhawks' lineup during his two seasons in green and gold, appearing in 60 games, with 153 at bats, 42 hits, and 26 RBI.

"The JCC baseball program is top-notch. I am grateful to my coaches for believing in me and giving me the opportunity. JCC baseball taught me discipline, accountability, and how to balance my time even when I was busy,' he mentioned.

When you've played as much in one jersey as Larson did, you're guaranteed to make some memories, but one stands out above the rest for the outfielder.

"My best memory as a Jayhawk was when I hit my first college grand slam in the home game against Tompkins Cortland Community College. I also really loved working security at the Bills games with my teammates," said Luke. 

Those times with teammates also helped forge the lasting impression about Western New York on a kid that grew up over two thousand miles away.

"What I will miss the most about JCC is the community feel. I came to JCC from Arizona, not knowing anyone, and it felt like home the moment I stepped on campus.

Larson and his Justice Lions teammates report for the 2026 season in August.
