JCC's Matthew Bohurjak Commits to Thomas College for Basketball

JAMESTOWN, NY - Jamestown Community College's Matthew Bohurjak (Cleveland, OH / Lakewood HS) has committed to continuing his academic and athletic careers at Thomas College in Waterville, Maine. "I chose Thomas College because of the basketball opportunity and beautiful campus," mentioned Matthew.

Bohurjak was a spark for JCC after being put into the starting lineup late in his sophomore season. He started seven games and appeared in 21, where he averaged 5 points while shooting 93% from the free throw line and 38% from three. "JCC prepared me athletically by the workouts and hard practices. It helped me find my confidence again to move to the next level," said Bohurjak.

The Ohioan plans to study Sports Management in hopes of becoming an NBA scout. "JCC prepared me academically by helping me get my GPA up to help with academic scholarships," he added.

The former JCC captain gave Jayhawk fans some great memories down the stretch of the 2023-24 season; his favorite moment is one of them: "My best JCC memory would be the first home game I played; I nearly got a triple-double or the Monroe game where I hit six of seven threes with the win," said the man known as "Matty 3."

Bohurjak and the rest of the Terriers start the 2024-25 season in November.
