Jayhawks Can't Shake Cold Shooting in Loss to Monroe

JAMESTOWN, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) men's basketball team dropped their latest home contest, 77-50 to Monroe Community College on Wednesday, mainly due to poor shooting, 31% from the floor and 23 turnovers.

JCC looked to keep it close early; a Tamir Barrant bucket had them down just two at the seven-minute mark of the first half.

Jamestown's deficit would grow to eleven quickly, with Mark Latrell doing most of the damage off the bench for the Tribunes.

A late half Travis Castro three gave the Jayhawks some life, but they still trailed 39-24 at the break.

That deficit reached 17 when Federico Foddai drilled one of his three long-range bombs on the day.

The freshman finished with a team-high 15.

Jamestown couldn't find an answer for the athleticism of Monroe, who poured in 58 points in the paint.

The loss brings JCC's record down to 4-20 on the season.

The Jayhawks have a week off before they finish the home schedule with Erie Community College in town next Wednesday, at 7:30 PM.
