Jayhawks Compete at the MCC Invitational

ROCHESTER – After a week off from competition, the Jamestown Community College men's swim team was back in the pool, competing at the Monroe Community College Invitational Saturday afternoon.

 

Matthew Fennell (Fourways Garden, Johannesburg, South Africa/Kind Edwards VII School) led the pack with three top-five finishes on the afternoon. Fennell had fourth-place finishes in the 50 yard butterfly (28.31) and 50 yard breaststroke (33.85). Fennell capped his day off with a fifth-place finish in the 100 yard IM (1:08.18).

 

Cole Carlson (Boonsboro, MD/Southwestern High) had a strong performance individually, finishing with two top-five finishes. Carlson placed second in the 100 yard freestyle (54.45) while placing fourth in the 200 yard freestyle (2:10.66).

 

Colby Pantall (Jamestown, NY/Maple Grove HS) also had two top-five finishes on the afternoon for the Jayhawks. Pantall placed third in the 1650 yard freestyle (21:42.56) while placing fourth in the 500 yard freestyle (6:08.74).

 

In relay action, the team of Fennell, Pantall, Carlson, and Tshepiso Ntuli (Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa/Pretoria Boys HS) placed fifth in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:59.58.

 

The Jayhawks will be back in action on Wednesday, November 17th, as they host the WNYAC Meet starting at 5 p.m.
