Jayhawks Edged by the Panthers on the Road

BRADFORD, Pa. - Closing out the fall portion of the season on a dominant performance, the Jamestown Community College men's swimming & diving team were edged out by the University of Pitt-Bradford by a score of 70-62 Saturday afternoon.

 

The Jayhawks (1-4) finished first in four individual events, led by Cole Carlson (Boonsboro, MD/Southwestern High) who had a pair of first-place finishes.

 

Carlson posted a personal best in the 50 yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 24.60. Carlson also posted a new best in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 54.26.

 

Colby Pantall (Jamestown, NY/Maple Grove HS) placed first in the 200 yard freestyle with a personal best of 2:09.19. Pantall also finished second in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:02.89.

 

Matthew Fennell (Fourways Garden, Johannesburg,South Africa/King Edwards VII School) had a first-place finish in the 100 yard backstroke, posting a time of 1:17.63. Fennell also placed second in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.02.

 

JCC also finished first in the 200 yard medley relay with the team of Pantall, Fennell, Carlso, and Tshepiso Ntuli (Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa/Pretoria Boys HS). The relay posted a time of 1:59.95.

 

The Jayhawks will be off until January 15th when they host the JCC January Invitational.
