Jayhawks Bested By Butler County In Overtime

BUTLER, Pa. - Looking to start the 2022 portion of the season off on the right foot, the Jamestown Community College women's basketball team was pushed to the limit and ultimately falling to host Butler County Community College in overtime, 74-72.

 

The Jayhawks (9-9) got another strong game out of Hannah Hicks (Cleveland, OH/Cleveland Heights) who led the way with 15 points while grabbing 19 rebounds (4 offense, 15 defense). D'Auzhanay Harden (Erie, PA/Erie HS) led the offensive effort with 18 points while Sydney Burke (Jamestown, NY/Southwestern High) added a career-high 15 points. Jessica Beehler (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk HS) also had a productive night, scoring 11 points including six points from the free throw line.

 

JCC shot 26-for-84 (31 percent) from the floor while grabbing 45 boards.

 

The Jayhawks will have another brief hiatus until Wednesday, January 26th, as they travel to Niagara County Community College to begin Region 3 action. Tip is set for 5:30 p.m.
