CANEADEA, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) baseball team left regional play for a night to take on the Houghton University Highlanders' junior team on the road Wednesday night. Jamestown returned home with a victory, taking down Houghton 9-6 in a single-game affair.
The Jayhawks were led at the plate by Nico Bourdon, who racked up four hits in five at bats, driving in two runs, and scoring a pair of runs in the process. Three other JCC batters tallied an RBI: Cadyn Wilson, Seth Ranieri, and Tamias Ramsey. Aside from Bourdon, seven Jayhawks scored runs: Ranieri, Tyler Skura, Ramsey, Jackson Shannon, Emmanuel Rosario, Adam Kubera, and Juston Bourdon.
On the mound, Finn Ricketts earned the win with his three innings pitched, allowing one run with a pair of strikeouts. Tamias Ramsey started the game, going three innings and allowing four runs while tossing five strikeouts. Ryan Stubbs picked up the save for his three innings, giving up just one run and throwing four strikeouts.
The win moves Jamestown to 8-9 on the season. JCC is scheduled to be back on the diamond on Saturday, April 4th, at 12:00 PM, when they host Erie Community College at Diethrick Park.
