Jayhawk Swimmers Set New Personal Best At Nationals

Fort Pierce, Fla. - Starting out the 2022 NJCAA Swimming & Diving National Championships, the Jamestown Community College men's team had multiple swimmers set new personal bests on the day.

 

Colby Pantall (Jamestown, NY/Maple Grove HS) set a new personal best in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:49.74. Pantall shaved nearly 13 seconds off his previous personal best. 

 

Jackson Vanstrom (Jamestown, NY/Southwestern High) also set a new personal best in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 12:32.34. Vanstrom cut off nearly 13 seconds as well in the event. 

 

The team wrapped up competition in the 800 yard freestyle with the team of Pantall, Vanstrom, Joseph Keyser (Mayville, NY/Chautauqua Lake Central), and Cole Carlson (Boonsboro, MD/Southwestern High) finishing in eight place with a time of 8:19.95.


As a team, the Jayhawks are in ninth place with 22 points, trailing Region 3 foe Genesee Community College by two points.

 

JCC will be back in action tomorrow morning for Session 3 starting at 9:30 a.m.
