Errors Plague Jayhawks in Sweep at Hands of Kats

BUFFALO, NY - The Jamestown Community College (JCC) baseball team was its own worst enemy in a pair of losses to Erie Community College, 16-2 and 12-2.

In game one, JCC committed three errors that aided Erie in scoring five early runs. The Jayhawks were down 11-0 before the start of the third inning. Jamestown was able to plate a pair of runs in the top of the third on a two-RBI hit from Jax Arcuri, but that was all the damage JCC could muster. Four different pitchers took the mound for Jamestown to try and solve the Kats, but it wasn't enough, as they fell 16-2.

Game two saw more of the same, with five errors leading to six of Erie's runs. JCC fell behind 3-0 after the first, but another pair of RBI from Arcuri made it 3-2 heading to the bottom half of the frame before things fell apart for Jamestown. Erie scored four in the second and then five in the fifth for the 12-2 win.

The pair of losses pushes JCC down to 8-14 on the season.

Jamestown is right back at it on Thursday when they travel to Niagara Falls to take on SUNY Niagara for a noon first pitch. This doubleheader will count as a home series for JCC, with the games being switched from Jamestown.
