Jayhawks Get the Win in Overtime

JOHNSTOWN - Making the trip out east, the Jamestown Community College men's soccer team needed overtime but came away with the 1-0 win over Fulton-Montgomery Community College Saturday afternoon.

The Jayhawks (4-5, 0-2 WNYAC) battled a tough Raiders for 90 minutes of action but neither team could gain an advantage.

Heading into extra time, JCC was granted a free kick after a foul was called on FMCC. Freshman defender Owain Jones (Cardiff, Wales/Cole Y Cymoedd) took the kick and lofted it into a group of players and coming out with a header was freshman defender George Glover (Leeds, England/Allerton Grange School) as the ball sailed into the net just inside the post.

Freshman goalkeeper Bryan Anderson (Ashville, NY/Chautauqua Lake Central) earned the goal in net, going the distance and making eight saves.

The Jayhawks will be back in action this afternoon as they travel to SUNY Adirondack for a 3 p.m. start.
