Jayhawks Take a 4-0 Contest From Jefferson

WATERTOWN – Closing out the regional portion of the schedule, the Jamestown Community College men's soccer team came away with a 4-0 victory over Jefferson Community College Sunday afternoon.

 

The Jayhawks (9-6, 1-3 WNYAC) scored three goals in the first half of action, starting with freshman defender Connor Hogg (Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa/King Edwards VII School) scoring his first collegiate goal within the first minute of action.

 

Freshman midfielder Louis Hurst (Blackpool, England/Cardinal Newman College) continues to have strong season, scoring his first goal of the contest in the 22nd minute with freshman defender Owain Jones (Cardiff, Wales/Coleg Y Cymoedd) getting the assist. Hurst added another goal to his total in the 27th minute off the feed from freshman defender George Glover (Leeds, England/Allerton Grange School) to make it a 3-0 game.

 

JCC added one more goal in the second half as sophomore Jesse da Costa (Perth, Western Australia/SEDA) set freshman midfielder Tshepiso Ntuli (Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa/Pretoria Boys HS) for the score in the 49th minute.

 

Freshman goalkeeper Bryan Anderson (Ashville, NY/Chautauqua Lake Central) earned the win in net, making four saves on the day.

 

The Jayhawks will be off until this Saturday, October 23rd, as they travel to Roberts Wesleyan College for a 12 p.m. start.
