JCC's David Luque Continues his Soccer Career at Webber International University

JAMESTOWN, NY - Jamestown Community College's David Luque (Seville, Spain / IES Juan Cuidad Duarte) is continuing his academic and athletic careers at Webber International University in Florida, where he will major in Business and Administration Management.

"I chose Webber International University because the soccer program is promising and Florida is a lovely state to go to," said Luque.

The Spaniard leaves JCC men's soccer at the top of almost all of the all-time and single-season record books. He finished as the Jayhawks all-time leader in goals and points in a season, netting 19 with 12 assists for a program record 50 points. The sophomore is also the career leader in goals (32), assists (18), and points (82).

"Being at JCC playing soccer has prepared me to be stronger mentally and physically every day," he added.

While David excelled on the pitch, he is also a 4.0 GPA student in the classroom, truly personifying what it means to be a student-athlete.

"The classes that I took at JCC helped me to better understand some concepts to keep improving my knowledge," Luque mentioned.

When you put up the stats that Luque did, you have a lot of great memories with your teammates, but two games stand out above the rest.

"There are some games that I will always keep with me, but two of them were my favorites. The first one was in my freshman year playing against Niagara Community College. We started losing because of a mistake of mine, but then I scored the two winning goals for us, the 2-1 and the 3-2. And then the second one was against Fredonia. We won that game 5-3, and I scored four goals and gave one assist. That was the game where I broke one of the records of this season," said Luque.

Luque and the rest of the Webber Warriors will start the 2025 season in August.
